Hey guys,

Keep in mind this is a work in progress. Which means, there’s no heavy editing whatsoever. My goal is to reach 50,000 words by November 30th. Bottom line, it’s about quantity not quality…(NaNoWriMo’s quote). I will be randomly posting excerpts, which may or may not be in sequential order to the previous post. I hope you enjoy, and please continue to leave your feedback. Thanks!

FATIMA

Something woke her from her sleep. She looked to the left of her where there was a cold, empty spot. This was no surprise to her for she often woke up to Ty not being in the bed, especially after a fight. She got up and went into the kitchen to get a drink of water. She had gotten pretty use to the layout of the house, so there wasn’t a need to turn on any lights. The night light in the kitchen was just bright enough.

She fetched a glass and filled it with tap water. As she turned to exit, she almost dropped the glass when she saw Ty sitting at the table, rocking back and forth. She started to ignore her and continue on playing the tit for tat game that Ty was notorious for…until she stepped closer and saw that Ty was not only holding a knife in her hands, but had been rocking on it long enough to break through her skin, which was apparent from the splotches of blood on her shirt.

“Oh my god,” Fatima screamed as she sat the glass on the table and snatched the weapon from Ty’s hands. “What the hell is wrong with you?”

Ty didn’t answer. She was in a daze, staring at nothing in particular. She was so high and drunk she had no clue what was going on. Graig ran out of his room.

“What’s going on? Why is that big ass knife right there?”

“Ask her stupid ass. She was stabbing herself with it,” Fatima said sarcastically and with an attitude.

Graig picked Ty up from the chair. “Don’t you get tired of this shit?” He asked Ty rhetorically. “I’ll take her to the hospital. You stay here with the kids.”
